Game Design

Hello guys

After researching on gaming my thoughts on games are that they are objects which need components and rules and have the same goal to win they also have rules and they can also make people very competitive.Games are entertainment and fun.

According to a report by Reuters, gaming is bigger than it ever was, bigger than every other form of entertainment. Last year, the gaming industry produced an estimated revenue of $116 billion, beating TV and TV streaming services' $105 billion, and that's as close as the industry wars got I think this is incredible and that the gaming industry will continue to grow more each year.

The source estimated the Chinese video game market to be the largest worldwide in the measured period, with a revenue of 34.4 billion U.S. dollars.https://www.statista.com/statistics/308454/gaming-revenue-countries/

  2. Hi Ellie,

I also agree that games need components and rules. I was unaware that gaming was bigger than any other form of entertainment out there at the moment. I also didn’t know that the Chinese video game market was the biggest worldwide. Do you think games can be defined in multiple different ways? Do you think Ian Schreiber’s term of “Critical Vocabulary” needs to be used by Game Designers in order to learn about games? I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

  5. Hi Ellie,

I really enjoyed you blog, it's clear you've done your research about gaming for this reading! I knew gaming was the biggest entertainment form and how much money it generates, sadly some of that came from loot boxes and other bad practices.

Either way this a great blog and an interesting one too! Can't wait to read it in the future !

  6. Hi Ellie,
I loved reading your blog. The layout of the blog was very affective and made it really easy for me to read it and keep track of where I was reading. It is clear that you have done a lot of research about gaming. I am not surprised that China has the largest gaming market as they have created such games like Pokemon and also they were the country that made the NINTENDO.
    Cya soon,
    Aaron Hogan.
