Game Vision Statement

Introduction: My game is an Action-adventure game where you have to collect jewels, treasure and other objects which will help them get through the game or fight off a person at the end of the game. When the player or players collect different objects around the game world it might also help them to unlock doors in the game world to get to the end. Each level or game world will have different things such as a creature and different treasures that will help them move on.The title i picked is Adventure Island. I choose this because i think it ties in well with my theme which is Action Adventure. The direction of this game is that the player will enter a world where they have to find treasure or other objects and when they collect enough treasure and objects it will help them unlock secret doors where they might find more jewels that will help win the game. They could start off by finding a map which will lead them to the next treasure and that could then tell them how many jewels they have to find to move on or they could find a shovel which will help them with Buried Treasure etc. The setting for this game is going to be on an island. In fantasy, islands tend to be lost worlds full of surprises, and generally seem to be a big deal.On my Island i will have treasure, beaches, Tall grass/reeds, trees, abandoned temples to lost gods, a volcano, a forgotten cave and maybe Creatures from another time, like dinosaurs and giant apes.
Background: The background of this game is going to be an island which will have have treasures, beaches, Tall grass/reeds, trees, abandoned temples to lost gods, a volcano, a forgotten cave and maybe Creatures from another time, like dinosaurs. It will have treasures scattered all around the game world for the player to find so that they can move forward with the game. I will use Unity to make my 3D game and i will also use coding to help me make all this work.

Description:The title of my game is Adventure Island. Adventure Island is where you will enter an island world with treasure and jewels that you must find to move forward in the game. When you first enter the world you will only have to find one or two treasures which could be a map that will then help you to move forward in the game or give you a clue to where the next treasure might be.There could also be secret doors that you have to unlock to find more treasure or it could bring you to a new place on the island. On the island there will be many things and in each new place you go you will discover more about the island like the forgotten cave that has a chest full of jewels and gold. There will also be audio over the game at all times and when you collect a jewel or treasure there will be a noise to show to have got it

Key features: Key features for this game would be:
  • Collecting treasure
  • Unlocking secret doors
  • Discovering new feature throughout the game
  • Creatures
  • Finding rich jewells

Genre: The genre of my game is adventure and action-strategy it is an open world.A game with an open world means that you can look around, if you spot a mountain and chances are you probably will be able to go there. Free roaming allows players to approach the game in a non-linear way and free roaming games always take place in an open world, in other words it is a modern game.

Platform(s):I think this game would do well on all platforms such as Playstation Xbox, computer, tablet, ipad, Mobile and Nintendo. But i think the best platform would be on a playstation or an Xbox.I personally prefer playing games on these platforms too because I feel like you are more into the game and you have a controller to work with instead of tapping your screen or using a mouse which can get frustrating at times. My target audience would also be probably 12 and over this game is for anyone no matter what gender you are it is for anyone who enjoys playing action adventure games. And i also feel that kids nowadays have all types of technologies especially at 12 and over so it my game would do well on all types of platforms.

  1. Hello Ellie, I just read through your Game Statement and I found it very intriguing to read. I enjoy the idea of the game being a treasure collecting game and that it takes place on the beach, that is something I haven't really seen other people do yet. Regarding the gameplay, will there be a hints system in place with the map as to the whereabouts of the treasures in each level or is the map merely going to display to the player the layout of the current level they are exploring? I don't know about the Dinosaurs and the Apes idea. I can understand the Fantasy Island idea you have proposed, are they going to have a real role to the overall game? Are they an obstacle? Or are they as you seem to suggest merely decorations to the level design. I think getting them involved in the players experience as a possible challenge to the player might be good. Overall I enjoyed reading your game idea and learning all about it.
